Caring For Your Products

Taking care of your quality items from Yummy Mummy Lingerie shouldn’t be a hassle – we already have enough to do right? Here are some instructions on properly caring for and maintaining your shapewear, swimwear, activewear and intimate wear. Please always do check the label at first wash for further care instructions.

Shapewear

Wash before you first wear. Machine wash cold on delicate setting with like colours. Wash in laundry bag. Line dry in shade.

  • Do not use fabric softeners

Please note – when wearing your shapewear always step into the garment then gently pull up. This goes for all shapewear items (camisoles, full slips and bodysuits) that do not fasten.

Swimwear

Wash before you first wear. Wash inside out. Machine wash cold on delicate setting with like colours. Wash in laundry bag. Lay out flat or line dry in shade.

  • Do not leave wet with other items
  • Do not use fabric softeners
  • Do not bleach
  • Do not soak
  • Dry without delay
  • Do not tumble dry
  • Do not iron
  • Do not dry clean

Please note – Rinse thoroughly after use (in the shower with you to save time 😊) and wash as soon as possible to avoid any chemicals such as chlorine wearing away the integrity of your swimwear. Avoid rough surfaces as they may jag and abrade the fabric. Rotate your swimwear so that a break allows the fabric to settle back into place, preserving elasticity.

Bras

To get the longest life from your bra, it is best to wash it by hand. T

his gives both your bra and the washing machine a break. Try hand washing your bra while you are in the shower – multi-tasking and increasing our efficiency as only mums can do!

If it is easier to wash your bra in a washing machine – you are not alone here trust me –  place your bra in a lingerie wash bag or even a pillowcase first. If your bra has removable pads, remove them before washing. Moulded or padded bras should really always be washed by hand so that they retain their nice rounded shape.

Hang your bras out to dry by draping centre front (apex) over the line or hanger and have cups hanging on either side of the line.

To retain their shape, always store your bras flat (not folded in half) – particularly if they are padded or moulded cup.

Briefs

Always read the care label on the items carefully as some may require a lower temperature or a special washing programme. Best practice is to wash similar colours together (this might be more of a note to husbands!). Briefs with diamantes or other decorations should be washed in a lingerie wash bag so they don’t catch on other garments.
